Guided ride with Bill Tait. 12 miles around the magnificent country of the southern part of the National Park (can be 15 miles if participants wish). Passing 11th century St Gregory's Minster with its ancient sundial, we then follow Hodge Beck, where in the 19th century 'the Hyenas' Den' was found, a cave of fossils of animals now found only in Africa: its discovery contributed to the science of evolution. We continue to Sleightholme Dale and Farndale to reach Gillmoor, with a drink at The Royal Oak. Then, following the ancient Shepherds' Road we ride via Kirkbymoorside back to Kirkdale. Includes river crossing - route will be changed if river levels make crossing dangerous. Group size limited to 5 people. Cost: �30. Please contact organiser for booking.
