Additional Event Information

Please be aware that horses must be fully vaccinated against flu to attend the venue (standard 12 month schedule is fine). This venue in Wakefield has purpose built TREC obstacles to go up, down and over - staircase, incline, bridge, steps & logs. Evie will build her mobile TREC course around the paddock & also set out a control of paces corridor. This training day will be devoted to the next generation of TREC riders – chance for them to meet like-minded young people & make friends that they can meet up with at competitions. Obstacle sessions & activities for all ages/levels with chance to ask questions & socialise between sessions. Tell me what you want to know about/practise, and I’ll do my best to incorporate it! A: novice/nervous/newcomers (lead rein welcome) – taster session on the obstacles & chat about the other phases to bolster enthusiasm to try TREC, perhaps starting with winter competitions. £20 B: those who have been to training before & want to start competing – group obstacle & control of paces training, practice map copying, short on foot map reading practice, chat about what to expect at competitions. £35 C: those who are already competing & want to improve/aim for international teams – private or semi private obstacle & control of paces training to really drill down on getting every available point. £35 Please state experience/confidence on the form Requests already received: how to set up a corral. Lovely pub The Kings Arms is just down the lane within sight of the parking area, open from 12 & welcomes horse riders. Come early or stay later and go for a hack in the local area and/or enjoy a drink or lunch while your horse has a haynet in the horsebox. For riders under 16 a parent/guardian must be present for the whole session. WHTG members can use a training voucher.
