EquiStabilising Exercises Learn how to Stretch, Strengthen and Stabilise your horse. November 20th, 1-4pm. Come and join us for this fun and informal afternoon of theory and practical sessions. You will learn how and why you can improve your horses posture, strength, core stability and suppleness by implementing EquiStabilising Exercises into your daily routine. Whether you have a small Pony Club pony, a happy hacker or a future Badminton star, your horse will thank you for attending this course. The use of core stability exercises to promote good health in our horses is well documented and will often be advised by your Physiotherapist, Massage therapist or trainer. They can be used for rehabilitation or just to maintain good spinal flexibility and strength. In order to get maximum benefit from these exercises it is important to understand why you are using them and be able to perform them correctly. This afternoon course is designed for you to come and learn how to do these exercises on your own horse, discuss the pros and cons and leave with a better idea of which ones are specifically beneficial to you. Handouts of the exercises will be available for you to take away. The sessions are taken by Megan Rees. Megan has 20 years experience in Physiotherapy. Starting out in the NHS, then the British Army before moving on to Veterinary Physiotherapy in 2006. Qualifications BSc (Hons) MCSP MSc Vet Physio. Chartered Physiotherapist & Veterinary Physiotherapist. Member of CSP (Chartered Society of Physiotherapy), HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council and ACPAT (Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Animal Therapy). Megan has a passion for treating both horse and rider fully and as a whole. A rider's weaknesses and asymmetries influence their horses way of going and can cause loss of freedom of movement. By offering treatment and exercise therapy as well as training advice, Megan hopes to restore or promote balance and harmony. Tea and yummy cake included. Horses provided for practical sessions. 50 for the course. A maximum of 8 spaces available.
