Additional Event Information

Come and join us indoor at Askham Bryan for a fun day of showing in a friendly atmosphere! Our working hunter show is run to showing rules but with no scary qualifiers and designed for those who have never been showing and find it quite frankly terrifying but also those who are show regulars to come and compete at! Starting with tiny tots & ponies in the morning followed by horses in the afternoon you will pick your class depending on the jumping height you wish to enter, we are also running a clear round before each class for those who would like a practise jumping round before a class or just want to come and jump some lovely inviting rustic fences without entering the full class. For those entering a class following your jumping round you will then complete a short individual show to include walk, trot, canter on each rein plus an extension in canter. Working Hunter Rules: Correct showing attire to be worn by all riders (beige jodhpurs, tweed jacket, competition shirt and stock/tie) Body protectors recommended for jumping phase but not compulsory, correct riding boots & hat to standard must be worn. Horses to be shown true to type (eg plaited, hogged or natural state depending on horse type) Horses can wear boots for the jumping phase but to be removed for the show phase, martingales are ok to wear for both phases. This event has been designed to suit the novice or nervous rider, new combinations & all wanting to just get out competing!
