Additional Event Information
A group outing for children who are on lead rein, or for non-ridden horses. At approx 2 miles this route is entirely off road on surfaced trails utilising a section of the Carsington circular route. Spot the carvings along the way and get a picture in the waterside frame before admiring the view from the amphitheatre. This route offers the perfect opportunity for exposing young horses to the wider world ahead of the start of their ridden career. Equally it provides enrichment for non-ridden horses, and allows children to gain an experience of riding in a group in a safe environment where numbers aren't too high.
Worth noting:
Children must be accompanied by an adult leader.
The Carsington trail is multi-user so expect to meet walkers with dogs or buggies, cyclists and off road wheelchairs.
There may be livestock present beside the route.
The route may include a crossing of a wooden bridge.
The car park is most suitable for trailers and smaller horse boxes due to a narrow entrance. Parking is charged at a maximum of 5 for all day.
Group size is limited to 6 horses. All participants must be covered by their own Public Liability Insurance. 38.50 per horse, for more info please contact via email or phone or visit Peak District Guided Horse ride on Facebook. Bookings can be made using the following link:
