Additional Event Information

Beautiful 7-mile ride led by Mary Thew in the south of the North York Moors, mainly along bridleways with a few sections on quiet lanes, through woods and farmland. The route follows Hodge Beck, which runs through Kirkdale. Because of the area's geology, the stream sometimes disappears underground at times of low water then reappears further down the valley. The pace will be steady, at walk and trot (with an optional canter if you and your horse feel like it). We cross a small river a couple of times via fords. Towards the end of the ride you pass St Gregory's Minster (11th century) with its ancient sundial. Max. 5 people. Cost: 32, starts 10am. Please contact us for booking.
