Additional Event Information

Led by Mary Thew, this 12-mile route passes through the atmospheric woods and moors north of Helmsley to the dramatic ruins of Rievaulx Abbey, now managed by English Heritage. The ride includes bridleways, stream crossings and quiet lanes, and it is hilly. We stop at the Abbey cafe for a drink mid-way (toilets, mounting block). There is good parking at the Newgate Bank Forestry carpark with hard-standing and plenty of room to manoeuvre. Start time 10am, entry fee 37 (includes a drink), max group size 5 people. Please contact us for entries.
